Dear Fellow Congregants/Chaverim:

Those who are unemployed or underemployed need reliable sources that will lead to employment opportunities that will allow them and their families to stay in Kemp Mill.

Who are those reliable sources? You.

For almost three years, the Kemp Mill Employment Assistance Initiative has been helping job seekers build painstainkingly the individual networks that generate jobs. We have helped dozens find work, primarily by linking those who want to work with those knowledgeable about their job markets.

Building a job network can take a while. That is why finding work can be a long, depressing process, akin somewhat to finding a needle in a haystack. We can help build networks faster if we can connect seekers with the right connections among hundreds of members of YISE holding a wide range of jobs in dozens of professions and occupations. This network could become useful someday for you or a member of your family.

We are building a secure database of information about members' employment so that we can be more effective and resourceful. This database will be available only to the JobAssist volunteers who are assisting job seekers in their job search. The volunteers will clear with you before making referrals.

The Rambam advises that helping someone find work is the highest form of tzedakah. Join us in this effort by submitting the requested information for the database. Please submit now individual forms for each member of the household. Retired members of YISE are also urged to participate in the database, noting that they are retired.

The sooner we hear from you, the more quickly we can help your friends and neighbors. Thanks for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Max Rudmann

The Rambam notes that the highest form of tsedakah is to help one on the verge of financial ruin. Over time, assisting in finding one good job for one who is unemployed, in addition to restoring that person's self esteem & morale, is equivalent to raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.
