The website is https://response.maryland.gov/federalpublicservants/,  (The State of Virginia established a website, www.VirginiaHasJobs.com, to help laid-off federal workers, but this article focuses on Maryland.) Here are some highlights of Maryland’s website: Unemployment compensation Unemployment compensation is available to eligible Marylanders who have separated from employment with the federal government, a federal contractor, or a federal grantee. Eligible Individuals can receive up to $430 in weekly benefits (pre-tax). Workers should apply for benefits in the jurisdiction of their “duty station.” This means, for example, that if you are a Marylander who is laid off from a federal job based in Virginia, you should apply for benefits in Virginia.
